I’m an FAGD dentist! What does that mean for you and your family?
FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. When you see a dentist with FAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Fellows practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year—not every dentist does this.
To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must:
- Complete over 500 credit hours of CE.
- Earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses.
- Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.
Dr Tordoya is also a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is working towards his Fellowship. He has already passed the rigorous written exam and completing his other requirements soon.
When Dr. Tordoya isn't making patients smile, he can usually be found having fun with his family.
Dr. Tordoya’s family includes his wife, Leslie, a registered nurse, and their daughter Abby. They enjoy spending time together and with their pet. Dr. Tordoya always finds time to be with his family and friends. His hobbies are traveling, reading, playing the guitar, listening to music, and enjoying all types of cuisine and cultures.
“I am really excited to offer my patients with the best comprehensive oral care they can receive. My biggest compliment is to gain your trust and referrals which I strive for every day.”
Leslie
RN, BSN - Patient Care Coordinator
Welcome to our dental family!
Most of the time you will find me at the front desk as your Patient Care Coordinator. I will be more than happy to answer your questions, plan your visits, and help to address any concerns you may have to make your experience with us a positive one.
I am a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I enjoy being able to provide the tools and education to each one of our patients to help them achieve and maintain their oral health as well as assisting them to connect their overall health to their dental health. I find it an exciting challenge to be able to work in a dental setting as a nurse.
My husband and I have an energetic and beautiful, almost 5-year-old daughter. I like to stay busy, so when I’m not in the office, I work as a nurse as I have been doing for the last ten years.
As a family, we are also very involved in our church and hope to transmit the faith to our daughter. I enjoy reading about nutrition, health, and keeping up with the latest in the medical and dental fields. I am a big animal lover and have a cat named Fifi, who is a member of our family.
I would be a veterinarian if I had the time for a third career!
The best experience I have had in dental consultation and treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Fernando Tordoya for his professionalism, responsibility and excellent human treatment. I also love his office staff for their empathy, consideration and attention, leaving the most pleasant impression on me. My congratulations to that human and professional team.
